What are Dermal Fillers? 

Fresh Faced uses Revanesse®, Restylane and Teosyal dermal fillers made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural component of your skin. Hyaluronic acid binds water within the skin helping skin to retain softness, moisture and repair damage. As such these fillers are a great choice for results that look and feel natural. Another great advantage of these dermal fillers is that they can be dissolved using hyaluronidase. These hyaluronic acid dermal filler are used to assists with sculpting the cheekbones, jawline, chin, lips, under eyes, laugh and marionette lines. We only use top quality and FDA approved products. 

How does the Procedure work?

During your treatment session, our Cosmetic Nurse Injector will start with a consultation to determine the best product to use for the effect you are trying to achieve. A topical anesthetic is administered followed by the use of a very fine needle to strategically inject the product in order to control volume. Injections can be administered gradually over a series of appointments until the desired result is achieved. Each treatment takes approximately 30-45 minutes. 

Who is a good candidate? 

A good candidate for dermal fillers can be anyone in their 20’s and older! Dermal filler is great for anyone wanting to restore volume, correct asymmetry, and regain balance in the face. Areas of treatment that are ideal, include the under eyes, fine lines, cheeks, jawline, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, lips, vertical lip lines, and temples. Dermal fillers can also help with tone and texture of the skin and reducing the depth of creases in the skin. Dermal fillers are also great for those looking to achieve more hydration and volume in the hands and lips.

When will I see results and when can I return to everyday activities?

Results are usually seen immediate following your appointment. Swelling and bruising may appear but will subside within 3-5 days. Depending on the area being treated, dermal fillers can last anywhere between 6-12 months. No downtime is required, therefore everyday activities can be resumed immediately.

Why Wrinkles Form?

Wrinkles develop over time due to a number of factors: collagen breakdown, hormonal losses, cellular changes, damage by free radicals and muscle movement among other factors. Ultimately even those who follow strict skin care regimens and avoid sun exposure can not completely avoid muscle contraction. Over time as these facial muscles are used and contract the overlying skin creases becoming more pronounced and forming wrinkles.

What is BOTOX™, Xeomin™, and Dysport?

BOTOX™, Xeomin™, and Dysport are brand names of the botulinum toxin. These prescription medicines are injected into the muscle, weakening and relaxing overworked facial muscles that cause wrinkles. BOTOX™, Xeomin™, and Dysport are highly effective, safe and approved by Health Canada and the FDA for cosmetic use.

How does the Procedure work?

All procedures begin with a consultation to determine which wrinkle relaxer is best and how many units are required to achieve the desired effect. Your Nurse Injector will then examine your facial muscles to determine the best place for the injection. Then, small injection amounts are made until the desired effect is achieved. The whole appointment usually takes about 10-25 minutes.

Who is a good candidate?

A good candidate is someone with mild to moderate wrinkles in the upper face who wants to smooth out current creases and lines in the skin caused by facial expression and prevent new ones from developing. Those ideal for treatment are men and women who range from their 20’s to 70’s! It’s never too late to start!

When will I see results and when can I return to everyday activities?
You can begin to see results within 24 to 48 hours of treatment. However, full results are visible about 10-14 days following your appointment. All patients are different however, results typically last anywhere from three to four months. Wrinkle relaxers require minimal downtime and everyday activities can be resumed immediately. However we do ask that clients refrain from lying down, exercising and taking a hot shower for at least 4 hours following your treatment. Your Nurse Injector will also provide you with complete post treatment instructions before you leave the studio. 

What is the Belkyra™ treatment?

Belkyra™ is a non-surgical procedure to remove the appearance of a double chin. It contains a chemical compound found naturally in our bodies called deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid aids in the absorption and breakdown of fat cells in the food we eat. In this procedure, it is injected into the chin area to dissolve unwanted fat and remove the appearance of a double chin.  

How does the Procedure work?

Belkyra™ is administered by injection into the fat under the chin by our Nurse Injector. 

Who is a good candidate? 

A good candidate is one who has mild to moderate submental fat seeking to reduce the amount of fat content under the chin. 

When will I see results and when can I return to everyday activities? 

Many patients see visible results in two to four treatments. However, up to 6 treatments spaced at least 4 weeks can be administered to reach the desired effect. Once the aesthetic response is achieved, re-treatment is not expected.
